Hotel Victoria is a historic yet modern hotel centrally located by the sea in Stavanger. The hotel first opened in July 1900, which makes it the oldest hotel in the city. 

Historical landmark

When the hotel first opened, it immediately became a success, impressing guests with its modern facilities and luxurious environment. After the opening, it even attracted famous guests like the Norwegian King Haakon and the King of Siam.

Tourist Attraction

In 1905, Stavanger’s first cinema opened on the ground floor of the hotel, making it an even bigger tourist attraction. Through the years, the hotel has had different owners and Managing Directors, but the timeless and classical distinctiveness has withstood the test of time. 

Still a popular destination

In 2017, the hotel was bought by the Norwegian investment company Glastad Holding. The company wanted to renovate the hotel while keeping its old and charming details. In August 2020, the hotel opened its doors again – this time with even more modern facilities and individually furnished rooms.

The Victoria suite

If you’re looking for hotels in Stavanger to enjoy outstanding luxury and pampering, the Victoria Suite is the absolute choice. This is our most luxurious suite, which measures 49 square meters. It includes all modern facilities, is beautifully decorated to express its historical backdrop, and brings forth the most exquisite experience in all of the city. 

Live Like a King

The room is fully furnished with a huge king size bed and has a bathroom with marble tiles and a bathtub. It has a beautiful view overlooking the ocean in Vågen, a dining table for eight people and a workstation.

Here you will also find comfortable bathrobes, cosy slippers and exclusive wellness products from Penhaligon´s. In other words: everything you need for that extra comfortable stay.

Corner suites

In our corner suites, you can enjoy the beautiful view overlooking Vågen or cosy up in a huge king size bed.

The suite measures 40 square meters and has all modern facilities included, such as a coffee machine, TV with Chromecast, a comfortable sitting/dining area and a decadently decorated bathroom with a bathtub. 

Relaxing Atmosphere

Our rooms include a hair dryer and exclusive wellness products from Penhaligon’s. The corner suites are all individually furnished, and are suitable for three people. Here you can relax in a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere.

Junior suites

If you´re looking for spacious rooms amongst hotels in Stavanger, Hotel Victoria offers junior suites that are 25-29 square meters, all of whom have a light and airy openness.

Our Deluxe rooms are 20-25 square meters, and are suitable for a group of four. The rooms are light and delicate, and they all include a beautiful bathroom with a shower and a bathtub. In the Deluxe rooms in our hotel in Stavanger, you will find facilities like a workstation, hair dryer and a minibar. The Deluxe room is the perfect choice if you’re traveling with other people and want a calm place to come home to after a long day. 

Superior room

If you´re traveling with a partner or just want some extra space, the Superior room is an ideal choice. In our Superior rooms you can choose whether you want a double bed or twin beds.

At the breakfast buffet, we serve fresh bread, juice, coffee and a plethora of delicious meals. You can also order breakfast by room service if you want a peaceful morning alone or with your party.

Salon Du Nord

At our hotel in Stavanger, we have a lovely bar called Salon du Nord, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch or a tasteful cocktail in the evening. Back in the 1900s, the bar was an elegant barbershop and hairdresser – hence the name. 

The Oldest New Bar in Stavanger

Now it has transformed into a modern bar, where you can enjoy artful cocktails and a great conversation with friends. Even though the interior has changed over the years, the bar still oozes charm and elegance. That's why we call it «the oldest new bar in Stavanger». A wonderful venue for spending time with friends, loved ones or colleagues.

Afternoon Tea

Try an old British tradition while you’re here in Stavanger. Hotel Victoria is one of the few hotels in Stavanger that serves afternoon tea. The tradition of afternoon tea was first introduced by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, early in the nineteenth century. 

Treat yourself to that little extra

Now, many years later, you can enjoy the classical tradition of afternoon tea here at our hotel. The little meal is served with a selection of cheeses, scones, sandwiches, clotted cream and delicious baked goods. For that extravagant feeling many choose to include a bubbling glass of champagne with their meal.
